Enrich and develop kids' skills through music education
Main objectives
Our brand new music studio in Victoria Yards
Based on the experience of a previous project developed in Cameroon from 2016 to 2018 by Xavier Duménil, the project founder, the objective (supprime project repetition) is to introduce kids to music.

The school is open to children between 5 and 15 years old, living in the Lorentzville, Bertrams, Bezuidenhout Valley areas, near Johannesburg city center.
The music school gives opportunity to about 20 kids (in the 1st year in 2021 then 50 in the second) to learn with professional teachers various instruments (trumpet, piano, guitar…) and to discover the world of music in a participative and recreative way.

Project's Philosophy
Discovery
Give the kids the opportunity of not only learning to play an instrument with professional musicians, but also to discover the joy of playing music in groups, whatever their level, and listening to all kind of music.
Development
Using the music school not only as a tool to develop the children’s skills, but also as a lever to foster and strengthen the exchanges between the more privileged Victoria Yards and Troyeville House actors and their surrounding neighbourhoods.
Perenniality
Structuring the project around a skilled and highly motivated team (teachers and school manager) and a carefully monitored budget, in order to guarantee the school’s success and perenniality.
Cooperation
Working in close partnership with existing organizations which are strongly contributing to the economic and social development of the area and have a proven expertise in their respective fields.
